Fire From the Skies

These scenarios portray the first carrier-to carrier actions, fought in the Southwest Pacific in May of 1942.  This was the first naval battle in which the opponents traded blows without the opposing ships ever sighting each other.  It was also a collection of missed opportunities (and nearly missed opportunities) for each side.  Included below are links to:

•     Two scenarios, each depicting a day of battle,

•     Ship data diagrams for carriers involved in the scenarios, and

•     Carrier operations diagrams for all carriers involved in the battles.
